So far this year I have:
Spent two weeks on a translation residency in Banff
Done a campus visit for a tenure-track job
Had four teaching assignments
Had a book review published in Translation Review
Defended my dissertation
Celebrated the release of The Maroons, an abolitionist novel
Conducted archival research at Yale
Presented that research at two conferences
Delivered a talk on collaborative translation at one of those conferences
Experienced my first earthquake
and first total solar eclipse three days later
Set up a trampoline and a playhouse
Bathed in the love of my children and wife
